Creating Notes documents
The way in which you create a document differs depending on the application. However, from anywhere in IBM® Lotus Notes®, can also use the File > New menu to create messages, calendar entries and more.

You can create a document in an application if you have Author access, Depositor access, or higher.


Document creation tasks

Create a new documentUse any of the following ways to create a new document:
    • From the menu, click File > New and then select the document type.
    • From the toolbar menu, click New, and then select the document type.
    • Click a toolbar button, if available.
Save a document and keep it openClick File > Save, or press Ctrl+S (Macintosh users, COMMAND+S).
Save and close a documentClick File > Close, or Press ESC.
Temporarily save a document to a local applicationClick File > AutoSave > AutoSave Now.

Note: The application must include the Autosave feature.


Note: Notes® documents are different from the word processing documents created using IBM Lotus® Symphony. If you installed Lotus Symphony on your system, see the Lotus Symphony section of Help for information on creating and formatting word processing documents.
